The most common type: a ceramic honeycomb coated with platinum, palladium and rhodium inside a steel shell.
PGM Recycling buys catalytic converters and DPFs from any make, petrol or diesel, at our branch at 14 John Street, Unit 1, Selby. Every unit is priced on the day's platinum, palladium and rhodium prices in front of you, and paid in cash or by EFT on the spot. Can't come in? We collect for free.
From cars, bakkies, taxis, trucks and buses. OEM and aftermarket. Damaged, cut-open and partly empty units too.

Loose honeycomb substrate and bulk lots from workshops and yards, XRF-tested for an exact price.
Two converters that look the same can hold very different amounts of precious metal. That's why every unit is identified and priced individually, in front of you:
No reference number? No problem. Send a clear photo of the whole unit to 084 306 6660 on WhatsApp for an estimate before you come in.
Catalytic converters contain precious metals, so buying them is regulated in South Africa. PGM Recycling is registered with the South African Diamond and Precious Metals Regulator (SADPMR) and identifies every seller as the law requires. Bring your South African ID, driver's licence or passport when you sell.
The Selby branch is just south of the Johannesburg CBD, close to Ophirton and Booysens. Sellers come from Soweto, Roodepoort, Randburg, Sandton, Midrand, the East Rand (Germiston, Alberton, Boksburg, Benoni, Kempton Park), the Vaal and Pretoria, and collection is free anywhere in South Africa.
